The Garden Route

The Garden Route is a popular and scenic stretch of the south-eastern coast of South Africa. Stretching from Mossel Bay in the Western Cape to the Storms River which is crossed along the N2 coastal highway over the Paul Sauer Bridge in the extreme western reach of the neighbouring Eastern Cape. The Garden Route offers many recreational activities including hiking, birding, and any kind of water activities, whale watching and golfing. The Garden Route also offers one of the most diverse botanical experiences on the African continent.

There are many hiking trails with lovely picnic spots in the area. Watch the whales from the whale lookout. Go for walks in the beautiful Goukamma Nature Reserve or drive to Storms River Mouth and the Tsitsikamma Nature Reserve. Visit the Big Tree and the Garden of Eden. The Cango Caves are only a short drive away and there are many golf courses nearby.
