Welcome to Shearwater On Sea
Between Knysna and George with the salty air off the beaches on one side mingling with the fresh fragrance of the pine trees on the other, lies the sleepy town of Sedgefield and within the Shearwater On Sea Resort.
The area offers bird watchers a treasure trove of varied and beautiful bird species to be found within the different eco-systems in the surrounding area.
There are hiking trails and bird hides established for just that pleasure and at the same time you can marvel at the unique and colourful wild flowers and fynbos. Shearwater on Sea is situated across the road from Myoli Beach, one of Sedgefield’s two main beaches.
Swartvlei beach lies to the west, forming a safe estuary for bathing which also provides for good fishing for the enthusiastic angler.
Near Gerickes Point are beautiful rock formations including the famous “Lions Rock” and very famous for spear fishing. Shearwater on Sea is the only resort in Sedgefield that is situated 50 meters from the beach and offers a holiday haven for both young and old.
